Cheerleaders Raised $1K at Fundraiser, Will Have Table at July 4th Race

Thanks to Karen Colby for providing this information.

Sporting tie-dyed shirts of their own creation, the Lynnfield High School Cheerleaders super-sized their annual carwash to include selling  baked goods and slush while scrubbing the grime from both 4-wheel and floating vehicles. (They almost added a 4-footed friend to the list, but that dog was no dope and fled the scene.)

With spirits running as high as the temperature at Post Office Square, on Sunday, June 23rd, this first fundraiser of the 2013 season was deemed a success by all in attendance. The final count has yet to be tallied, but is thought to be in excess  of $1,000., which will go a long way in helping to fund the fees associated with cheering competitions.

Captains Vanessa Caraffa, Logan Colby-Nunziato, Alexis Finn and Jill Lee would like to thank their generous supporters who purchased tickets to the carwash; their hard-working squad; the bake sale contributors; and the participating parents who lent a hand.  The cheerleaders would also like to thank the Town Selectmen, Captain Michael Feinberg and the Lynnfield Fire Department for allowing the girls to set-up and take over the South Lynnfield parking lot for the day.

Look next to see the LHS Cheerleaders at the Lynnfield Athletic Association’s 5K Race, on Wednesday, July 4th.  In its 44th year, this town-wide race on the 4th of July attracts runners of all levels and ages.  Starting and ending at Town Hall, the LHS Cheerleaders along with hundreds of well-wishers will support the LAA, and cheer the runners across the finish line.  The girls will also be offering complimentary coffee, and have 4th of July novelties and baked good for sale.
