Crighton Wins, But You Probably Already Knew That
Just 205 Lynnfield residents out of 9,053 vote in special state primary.

Brendan Crighton won the Democratic primary for the Third Essex Senatorial seat Tuesday and if you're a Lynnfield resident who didn't vote, you're not alone.
Crighton was the only candidate on the Democratic ballot, won easily, and now enters the March 6 special election to replace Thomas McGee where he'll be the only candidate on that ballot as well. In Lynnfield, just 205 voters turned out in a town with 9,053 registered voters. In the Democratic primary, Crighton got 90 out of 96 votes cast with six write-in votes for Lynnfield attorney Michael Walsh. There were no names on the Republican ballot but Walsh received 96 write-in votes. A man for all parties, Walsh also received one write-in vote on the Libertarian Party ballot.
The Third Essex District includes Lynnfield, Marblehead, Lynn, Saugus, Swampscott, and Nahant.
