Elaine Gravante Announces Write-In School Committee Bid

Elaine Gravante has announced that she is running as a write-in candidate for school committee in the April 8th town election. Below is a letter that she provided:

Hello. My name is Elaine Gravante, and I am running on April 8^th as a write-in candidate for a seat on the School Committee. I am running because I believe I can make a difference. I believe I can be a voice for the people of this great community. 

I have been a resident of Lynnfield for 14 years. My husband Barry and I have two boys in the Lynnfield Middle School,  grades 6 and 7. Currently, I am co-chair of the SEPAC (Special Education Parents Advisory Council).

I am also an attorney with the law firm Tentindo, Kendall, Canniff & Keefe in Charlestown, where I have worked since July 2002. I graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School in 1996, after completing the evening law school program while working full time during the day.  I received my B.A., with a double major from Tufts University in 1989.

I believe in the voice of the members of this community.  I believe in providing the community with notice of important issues and affording the community with an opportunity to be heard on these issues and their impact on our families. I understand what it is like to be a working mom in a two-working-parent household.  I want  to represent the members of this community and help you in having your voices heard in matters that count, not the least of which is your children’s education and the success of our families.

On April 8^th, please remember me, Elaine Gravante, the write-in candidate for a seat on the School Committee.
