Excellent Effort in Malden

Playing in only their second full ice game and first time away from their home rink, the Mite A Stars put together a valiant effort against an evenly matched Brookline team. Maybe it was actually having heat in the locker room that made them feel comfortable from the start but most likely it was a great speech by first line center and captain Stevie Migliero..."When I work harder at those one on one battles I get the puck more often. I don't wait for the puck to come to me, I go after it. My defense creates my offense." Mike Modano could not have said it better himself. The entire team fiercely battled Brookline throughout the game and never quit. Second line center, Brendan Heffron won several key faceoffs for his stellar sets of wings Abby Travers, Jimmy Driscoll, Jack and James Glowacz, Timmy Sullivan and Mike Murphy. Joseph and Jonathan Soares along with Anthony Grabau and Dion Sacca were tough to get around on defense. Grabau would grab the game puck in this one. The Stars ground out a few nice goals by Joseph Soares and Jimmy Driscoll. Goalie Cam Sullivan faced a barrage of shots and denied Brookline with some amazing pad saves, keeping the game even. The entire team was dripping sweat at the end of this match and it was obvious as to why, they put in the effort and never stopped trying. Back at it next week against Burlington in the hostile confines of the Ice Palace! Go Stars!
