Former Lynnfielder Tells Newsweek, 'DOJ Has A Hit On Me'
Former FBI agent and Lynnfield agent John Connolly appeared in Newsweek this month, giving his first interview since the arrest of Whitey Bulger.

A former Lynnfielder who played his own prominent role in the Whitey Bulger saga is back in the news this week. John Connolly, a former FBI agent serving a 40-year prison sentence, recently granted his first interview since Bulger's arrest last year to Newsweek.
The interview quotes Connolly and supporters as saying that there is a coverup going on in regard to the government's handling of Bulger during the organized crime figure's time as a government informant.
“My lawyers have information that since Bulger was brought in, he spoke to FBI agents and told them I had nothing to do with tipping him off (about a pending federal indictment). And he told them I had nothing to do with this murder in Florida, not one damn thing," Connolly is quoted as saying in Newsweek. The former Lynnfielder is now imprisoned in Florida and was also quoted as saying "The Justice Department is going to do everything within its power to try to make sure the full story never comes out."
