Huckleberry Hill Advises Students on Illness Precautions
Huckleberry Hill Elementary School principal Brian Bemiss reports an increase in illnesses since the February vacation.

LYNNFIELD, MA—As the weather gets warmer, many students and residents alike may find themselves feeling a bit under the weather.
Huckleberry Hill Elementary School principal Brian Bemiss reported via Facebook Tuesday that the school has seen an uptick in illnesses since the February vacation. Bemiss took the opportunity to remind parents of the guidelines in the student handbook regarding illnesses.
Bemiss urged parents not to send their children to school under the following conditions.
- They have been on conjunctivitis medication for less than 24 hours.
- They have vomited or had diarrhea within 24 hours.
- They have a severe respiratory infection with cough, sore throat or nasal congestion.
- They have an undiagnosed rash. They would need a note from their doctor stating their ability to return to school.
- They have been on medication for strep throat for less than 24 hours.
- They have had a fever over 99.8 and have not been fever free without the aid of medication for at least 24 hours.
