A Message to the Residents of Lynnfield:

I seek the membership of the Lynnfield School Committee on April 9, 2012 with a great amount of passion, enthusiasm, energy, and the time that is required for a full commitment.  Like so many of you my family moved to this community, purchased a home, became an integral part of a neighborhood, but even more so, invested in a school system.  As a result of our elevated standards and expectations for teaching and learning our public schools enjoy the status of a lofty ranking within the commonwealth.  My candidacy represents an opportunity to reenter the realm of public service and collaborate with the current school board in an effort to maintain the recognition and position of our schools.

We all know and understand the direct correlation that exists, and reciprocal relation between and among our schools and our community at large.  The high quality of our educational programs and initiatives, the efficacy of our teachers, and the achievement of our students define and characterize Lynnfield.

I have been a Lynnfield Pioneer for 25 years, a public servant in education for 33 years, enjoying the last 12 years of my career as the principal of a very large Pre K through 8 school in a challenging urban environment.  I understand school district policy and procedure and the Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) pertaining to public schools.  I have expertise regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessment and subsequently represent an excellent resource within all of these areas that are so critical to the public school process.  Our superintendent and our legion of school administrators are the transformational instructional leaders of this district and I welcome the opportunity to support them in any capacity.

I am extremely excited about the prospect of serving Lynnfield as an active school board member; I thank you for reading, and thank you in advance for your consideration on April 9.
