LETTER: Missy's Militia Rides To Fight Brain Tumors

Send letters to the editor and local opinion pieces to william.laforme@patch.com.

Sunday September 9, Missy’s Militia rode in the Reason to Ride bike-a-thon to benefit the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s brain tumor research department.

The ride was founded in 2008 by Tom DesFosses, a Peabody resident and brain tumor survivor. Our team raised over $1000 and we would like to extend our gratitude to all those who donated and supported us. We had a great time while helping out with such a worthy cause.  We cannot thank the community enough for the overwhelming outpouring of support for the DiGangi Family that took place at Prince Pizza on Wednesday August 29th. As we started the school year, friends and neighbors reconnected after the summer vacation. Thank you to the Ripley Family who donated back their 50/50 winnings to the DiGangi’s. Lynnfield has a reputation and history of supporting those in need and that evening was just another example of the caring and generous nature of this community.

With much thanks and gratitude
