Library Announces June Events

Wide variety of activities planned for the month.

The Lynnfield Library has announced a June schedule that offers something for all ages, especially with local students on the verge of beginning their summer vacations.

On Saturday, June 11, the library kicks off its summer reading program with a noontime registration and hot dog lunch followed by a 1 p.m. performance by singer and storyteller Davis Bates.

Later this month, on Friday, June 17 the library will celebrate Father's Day with card-making and stories starting at 3:45 p.m. The next day, June 18, happens to be the last Saturday the library will be open all summer.

Also in June, the library will feature a Fiesta Story Time on Tuesday June 21 and 28 at 1:30 p.m., with stories, songs and fingerplays in Spanish and English. Activities will be geared toward ages 0-5. No registration required.

On Wednesday, June 22, there will be a Sharing Food Around The World Pajama Party at 6:30 p.m. featuring exotic snacks and stories about foods and various cultures.

Thursday, June 23 and 30 at noon, drop by the Lynnfield library for a lunchtime program featuring folk tales from around the world. Ages 6-12, no registration required.

On Monday June 27, the library as an interest meeting at 6:30 p.m. for a teen theatre workshop. Actors and actresses aged 10 and up.

Finally, the month will end on a unique note – On Wednesday, June 29 at 6:30 p.m., the library will participate in a sociology experiment using BookCrossing software to see where individual books end up moving around to.
