Local Woman's Quilt Displayed at Area Show
Betty Atkins, a member of the Stitch and Chat group at the Lynnfield Senior Center, worked on quilt for about a year.
Local resident Betty Atkins spent a year working on a quilt that was recently displayed at the Essex County Needlecraft Guild's 40th anniversary exhibit earlier this week in Ipswich.
The quilt has a calendar theme, with each square showing a house surrounded by seasonal images representing each months of the year. For added measure, a little cat can be found in each of the squares as well.
Atkins is a member of the Senior Center's Stitch and Chat group, which meets on Thursday mornings. The items created by group members, such as baby hats, are available for purchase at the Senior Center, with proceeds going to help support its programs.
