Lynnfield Boys and Girls Hockey Ready For a Challenge
Pioneer teams are last seed in both MIAA tournaments.

Both Pioneer hockey teams are the last seed in their respective MIAA hockey tournaments, whose pairings were announced Saturday.
The boys are the 13th seed in Division 2 North at 10-8-2 and will play No. 4 seed Winthrop on Tuesday at Stoneham Arena. Should they pull off the upset, the Pioneers will play the winner of the Methuen-Saugus game in the quarterfinals. Lowell Catholic is the top seed in the tournament at 16-2-2.

The girls are a coop team with Peabody and thus in Division 1. They are the 19th seed at 9-8-3 and will face No. 14 seeded and host Arlington (10-7-3) in a preliminary round game Wednesday at 6 p.m. An upset there earns them a shot at No. 3 seeded Woburn in the first round. Needham is the top seed in Division 1 at 19-0-1.
