Lynnfield Democratic Delegates Attend State Convention

Candidates Chosen for Primary Races

LYNNFIELD DEMOCRATIC DELEGATES ATTEND STATE CONVENTION

Eight delegates from the Lynnfield Democratic Town Committee took part in the Democratic State Convention held in Worcester on June 1st and 2nd. On Friday evening the group heard speeches from candidates who are not facing a primary challenger in September, and are all incumbants. These candidates were: Suzanne Bump, State Auditor; Deb Goldberg, State Treasurer; Maura Healey, Attorney General; and Elizabeth Warren, U.S. Senator.

On Saturday the delegates voted for their choice in the contested races. The winners who received an endorsement by the Party were: Jay Gonzalez, Governor; Quentin Palfrey, Lieutenant Governor; and Josh Zakim for Secretary of State. Their opponents, Bob Massie, Jimmy Tingle, and Bill Galvin, respectively, all received over 15% of the vote and will therefore be on the Primary Ballot on September 4th when the voters will ultimately decide who will be the candidates for the General Election in November. We hope Lynnfield voters will take the time to study the candidates and take part in the Primary Election.
