Lynnfield Library Announces September Events

The is offering fun family-friendly activities throughout the month of September, ranging from a talk like a pirate party to a new day - Friday - for Fiesta Story Time.

The library's board of trustees meets on Tuesday, September 6 at 6 p.m. Members have been working on a long-range plan for the library this summer.

On Thursday, September 8 at 3:45 p.m., the library has a party to celebrate the birthday of author Jack Prelutsky, creator of books like "My Dog May Be A Genius," and "It's Raining Pigs And Noodles."

On Wednesday the 14th, there's a Gruffalo Pajama Party at the library. This celebrates the release of the Gruffalo story onto DVD. Stories and a craft will be enjoyed.

On Thursday, September 15th, the Friends of the Lynnfield Library Board meet at 6:30 p.m. in the library mezzanine.

Talk Like a Pirate Day is Monday, September 19th, featuring stories and (of course) talking like pirates. A snack and a craft are also planned.

The library plans its first-ever Lego event on Wednesday, September 21 at 6 p.m., where children aged 6 and up will be able to make Lego creations and share them with others.

The next day, Thursday, September 22, features an afternoon discovery group at 3 p.m. for kids who are interested in science and technology. Each month's meeting will feature an experiment and a story about the science behind it. The first meeting's theme will be magnets.

Also on Thursday, September 22, the library's BookLovers group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the mezzanine. Looking ahead, the Curious About Cuisine group resumes their meetings for the fall on Wednesday, October 12.
