Lynnfield Man Who Sped Through Fire Scene Held on $50K Bail
The 51-year-old Lynnfield man who zoomed through a fire scene last month is charged with OUI among other charges and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Lynnfield resident and accountant Roland Caron, , has been deemed a danger to the public and is being held on $50,000 bail.
Caron, 51, of 6 Baldwin Lane, Lynnfield, was arrested June 22 after disregarding directions from police and wildly zooming down the closed off street where the fire was, clipping one officer with the car's mirror and narrowly missing several other officers and firefighters. He then led police on a short chase down residential side streets off Washington Street.
Caron was arraigned in on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol (second offense), one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (car), four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (car), driving recklessly to endanger and failure to stop for a police officer.

The Salem News reports that Caron was ordered held for 90 days in Middleton Jail by a Peabody judge at that hearing and that decision was upheld by a Salem Superior Court judge at a dangerousness hearing on Friday.
Prosecutors said Caron was totally out of control that night with a blood alcohol level of .23, nearly three times the legal limit, reports the Salem News. He was drinking vodka, according to police.

Caron told police that night he was trying to get to the Italian-American Club on Blaney Avenue, which is off Washington Street.
Caron pleaded not guilty to the charges and if he is able to make bail before his trial, he won't be going far.
The Salem News reports that if released, he must remain under house arrest -- he can only leave for medical emergencies or court appearances -- and wear a GPS bracelet as well as use a remote alcohol testing device.
