Lynnfield Nomination Papers For 2020 Election Available

The last date to obtain and submit nomination papers for the Town Election is Feb. 25.

LYNNFIELD, MA — Nomination papers for Lynnfield's Annual Town Election are officially available. There are several open positions available including Board of Selectmen.

The last date to obtain and submit nomination papers for the Town Election is Feb. 25. Papers have to be returned no later than 5:00 p.m. To get your name on the ballot, nomination papers must be certified with at least 50 signatures of Lynnfield registered voters. It is suggested you obtain at least 60 signatures in case a few are not able to be certified by the Town Clerk’s office.

  • Board of Selectmen, one seat for a three-year term
  • Board of Assessors, one seat for a three-year term
  • Board of Library Trustees, one seat for a three-year term and one seat for one year remaining on an unexpired term
  • Town Moderator, one seat, for a one-year term
  • Planning Board, one seat for a five-year term
  • Housing Authority, one seat for a five-year term and one seat for two years remaining on an unexpired term,
  • School Committee, one seat for a three-year term

A housing authority position is also available with the resignation of member Gerald Shulman as of January 28.

The Annual Election will take place on April 14 and the Annual Town Meeting is scheduled for April 27. If you are new to town, or you have never registered to vote before, the last date to register for these two events will be March 25. The Town Clerk’s office will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., or you can register on line at www.registertovotema.com
