Lynnfield Resident Honored by Massport
Anthony Guerriero recognized for managing community engagement on Logan Runway Safety Area project.

The Massachusetts Port Authority recently awarded Lynnfield resident Anthony Guerriero with the Authority’s “Outstanding Achievement” award.
The award honors employees who have made a noteworthy contribution to the operation of the Authority. Massport began the recognition program in 2007 to give employees an opportunity to honor their peers for superior individual achievement.
Guerriero is Massport’s Assistant Director of Community Affairs and was recognized for his efforts managing community engagement in support of Logan Airport’s Runway 33L Safety Area Project (RSA) project. RSAs are a FAA defined safety surface designed to reduce the risk of damage to an aircraft in the event of an aircraft undershoot, overshoot, or exit from the runway. Congress mandated that all commercial service airports improve their RSAs to meet FAA minimum standards to the extent feasible, by 2015. Guerriero was also recognized for his efforts promoting last summer’s celebration of the commemoration of the bi-centennial of the War of 1812 in Boston Harbor.
“The Outstanding Achievement award recognizes instances of superior individual achievements and is an opportunity to recognize employees and thank them for their exemplary efforts and enthusiasm,” said Massport CEO and Executive Director Thomas P. Glynn. “Through their efforts we are helping our economy grow, meeting the needs of the traveling public and establishing Massport as a nationally-recognized leader in transportation.”
