Lynnfield's Annual Town Election April 10; Town Meeting April 24

All registered Lynnfield voters are encouraged to participate.

The Town of Lynnfield will hold its annual town meeting on Monday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lynnfield Middle School auditorium, 505 Main Street. All Lynnfield registered voters are encouraged to attend, listen to and participate in debate and discussion of the warrant articles, and vote on budgetary and other matters.

The warrant is now available online on the town’s website and is also available in hard copy at the Town Clerk's office and at the Lynnfield Public Library reference desk.

The annual warrant booklet with the Board of Selectmen's proposed budget and Finance Committee recommendations will be posted when it is completed.

The Lynnfield town elections will be held April 10 with the polls open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. All voting will take place at Lynnfield High School.

Article 29 -- At a cost of $500, would rename the middle school in honor of Alan C. Melanson, the only Lynnfield fire fighter killed in the line of duty. This is the 25th anniversary of his death.

Article 13 -- Approve funds to continue to operate Reedy Meadow Golf Course and King Rail Golf Course.

Article 15 -- Approve funds to build a clubhouse at King Rail Golf Course.

Article 20 -- Prohibit marijuana establishments.

Article 24 -- Allow the town to lease portions of the old Newburyport branch rail line to establish and maintain a multi-use rail trail.

Article 28 -- Change bylaws to keep dogs off the town's artificial turf fields.
