Maddie Henshaw collects for Gathering Change, Inc.

Madeline Henshaw collects change on Hall Rd. Stoneham for Gathering Change, Inc. who will donate it to local food pantries.

Gathering Change on Hall Rd.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our neighbors on Hall Rd.! Together, they donated a total of $603.85. As part of Madeline Hanshaw’s religious education, she volunteered to raise money for Gathering Change, Inc. (gatheringchangeinc.org) to feed hungry families in Stoneham. A note was placed in the mailbox of neighbors explaining that Madeline would be collecting money on Saturday, November 22nd. Neighbors were asked to place a red ribbon enclosed in the letter on their doors so she knew it was ok to come to their home to collect a donation. Not only did they give generously, but many thanked her personally for her service and for the opportunity to be part of the effort. One generous neighbor provided 110 lbs. of potatoes, onions and sweet potatoes that were able to be put into the Thanksgiving meal distribution at the food pantry operated out of the First Congregational Church. This 7 yr. old was so proud to help hungry families in our town. Many thanks to all who contributed and to GCI for creating this unique opportunity to give back to our community!
