Market Street Site Work Blasting This Month

One of the next steps in the ongoing construction of the Market Street at Lynnfield project will be blasting along a small area of Ledge near Route 128, according to an update on National Development's MarketStreetConstruction.com website.

The update reports that preparations are now underway for the blasting, which will occur twice a day, around 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for about 30 days beginning late this month. Highway message boards will be placed to help keep motorists apprised of impending blasting, and there may be some traffic stoppages during these times as well.

The website also notes that surveys of surrounding properties are underway, as is the installation of seismic monitoring equipment. Notices will also be sent to abutting property owners.

The current site work at Market Street is expected to continue through the summer. Foundations for the various buildings on the site should start appearing around September.
