MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AT PURITAN LAWN MEMORIAL PARK

$1,112 raised for NEADS: National Education for Assistance Dog Services

On Sunday May 29th, 2016, Puritan Lawn Memorial Park honored all veterans, past and present during their annual Memorial Day service. Readings were provided by members of the Puritan Lawn community, the Lynnfield Knights of Columbus and Pastor Tom Coots. Bagpipe music was provided by Rob Eagan of the Boston Pipers Society.

During the weekend, a raffle was held in support of NEADS-World Class Service Dogs, which was founded in 1976. $1112 was raised for this organization. NEADS provides service dogs to veterans who are coping with physical limitations, hearing loss and post-traumatic stress. Since 2006, they have placed almost 100 dogs to deserving veterans. For more information on this organization, please visit their website at neads.org.

Our raffle winners from the weekend are Joseph Rogers of Wilmington, Priscilla Corbett of North Reading, Debbie Littleton of Woburn and Sandra Formica of Peabody. Prizes included a $100 MasterCard gift card and gravesite floral arrangements.
