New Owner of Liquor Store Plans Upgrades

Robert Rudowsky plans to give Kernwood Liquors a more upscale feel, expects to close for renovations for a couple of weeks.

The new owner of Kernwood Liquors on Salem Street in Lynnfield was at the selectmen's meeting Monday night for approval of a liquor license transfer.

Robert Rudowsky and his attorney, Richard Savastano, indicated that the business will close for renovations for about two weeks - with new shelving, floors and a more upscale feel in general planned.

Rudowsky said to selectmen that Kernwood Liquors is currently more of a "classic package store," but he plans to make the business "more like what (Lynnfield) is accustomed to," and also more attractive to customers of other adjoining businesses.

At the outset, the business will be run by Rudowsky and the one employee he has hired so far.
