"Pop-Up" Jewish High Holiday Services

In anticipation of the upcoming Jewish New Year, Chabad of the North Shore under the leadership of Rabbi Yossi Lipsker, has announced it will be hosting Yom Kippur Services for the North Shore communities along route 129. These services are part of Chabad of the North

Shore’s innovative “Jewish Pop-Up Centers ” which host Jewish holiday programming in the communities North of Boston.
The special Yom Kippur services will be led by Rabbi Mendy Gurevitch and hosted at the Sheraton Colonial conveniently located right off route 128 in Wakefield.

“Our mission here at Chabad is to bring the spirit and beauty of Judaism to every Jew living on the North Shore” said Rabbi Lipsker. “After witnessing the tremendous and unexpected turnout at this past years Pop-Up Chanukah party in the Lynnfield Meeting House, we realized the time has come to bring High Holiday services to the area”

Using the classic Chabad model, the services will be “inviting, spiritual and informative”, according to Rabbi Nechemia Schusterman, Director of Chabad of Peabody. “The services will be comfortable for beginners and traditional enough for the old-timers”

Unlike a formal congregation, tickets and membership are not required. All are welcome, regardless of background or affiliation. All prayers will combine the original Hebrew, as well as translated English.

“According to Tradition, during the High Holiday season the Doors of Heaven are open; G-d accepts all prayers, from everyone, you just have to walk through the door” explains Rabbi Lipsker. “Our aim with this new initiative, is to open as many doors as possible.”
