Saugus Public Library Foundation Gala and Silent Auction, October 29th

The Saugus Public Library Foundation will sponsor its 2^nd annual Gala and Silent Auction on Saturday evening, October 29^th at the 295 Central Street location in Saugus. The event will feature gourmet hors d’oeuvres, flower arrangements created by members of the Saugus Garden Club displayed throughout the library, a cash bar, music and a silent auction.

The Gala and Silent Auction will continue the Foundation’s Readers Make Good Leaders promotion which celebrates and encourages reading throughout the community. Several local officials, business representatives and residents have been featured in the community throughout the year with a book that has been a major influence in his or her life.

“Please save the date and mark your calendar to join us on October 29^th for our second annual gala,” Saugus Public Library Foundation President Linda Call said. “The first annual gala was a great success and provided the opportunity to celebrate the library and its importance in our community.”

All who attend the Gala and Silent Auction must be 21 years of age or older. Tickets are $35 per person in advance and $40 per person at the door. Each attendee will receive a commemorative wine glass as a token of appreciation. Tickets are available on line at www.sauguspubliclibrary.org/foundation or at the Saugus Public Library.

The Saugus Public Library Foundation was established in 2004 through significant gifts from the estates of Douglas Lockwood, Josephine Kibbey, and Marie Weeks, as well as funds turned over by the now-disbanded environmental nonprofit, Noblast, Inc., and smaller individual trust funds and bequests. The Foundation provides the means for the library to make long range plans and commitments using the interest earned on the principal balance of the Foundation, and promote and carry out charitable and fundraising activities.
