Slew of Lynn nonprofits benefit from East Boston Savings Bank donation
Eight Lynn-based organizations awarded nearly $35,000

East Boston Savings Bank recently funded projects at more than four dozen nonprofit organizations across Massachusetts, and several of the organizations are based here in Lynn.
The local bank, which has been a leader in local banking and an active member in the community for more than 165 years, recently held its annual Charitable Foundation Breakfast, at which announced its plan to donate $236,000 in grants to 54 nonprofits organizations across Massachusetts.
The eight Lynn-based organization are:

- Girls, Inc. received $5,000 to support its Family Engagement Program
- Lynn Community Health Center received $4,500 to support its Reach Out and Read program
- Raw Artworks received $2,500 to support its Enrichment Activities programs
- Bridgewell received $5,000 to purchase equipment for its Rosewood Drive Day Habilitation Center
- Lynn Boys & Girls Club received $5,000 for its Making Minutes Count program
- Catholic Charities received $5,000 to support its STEEP program
- Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless received $5,000 to launch the Teen Closet at Jeremiah Burke High School
- Family & Children’s Services of Lynn received $2,500 to support next year’s TEEN SCENE programs
“East Boston Savings Bank was built on a foundation of hard work and dedication to our local communities,” CEO Richard Gavegnano said. “The men and women working for these organizations are our neighbors and our friends. It’s an honor to play a small role in their continued success. This contribution was made out of gratitude for their good work, and to act on our continuing commitment to invest in our community’s future.”
The East Boston Savings Foundation was founded in 1998 to provide funding to support charitable causes and community development activities. To date, the Foundation has donated more than $1.7 million to charitable organizations that serve local communities across the state.
