SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Brendan Crighton is - obviously - the new Third Essex District senator after he ran solo in Tuesday's special election. Crighton, a Lynn Democrat, cruised to an equally noncompetitive primary victory in February.
Thomas McGee had held the seat before becoming Lynn mayor. The Third Essex District includes Lynnfield, Marblehead, Lynn, Saugus, Swampscott, and Nahant.
