Town Meeting Voters To Approve MarketStreet Land Transfer

Selectmen held short meeting Friday morning to authorize town administrator to execute land agreements with National Development.

When Lynnfield voters go to town meeting on Monday, October 15th, one item they will consider is Article 7, which authorizes the town to accept a 103-acre parcel of golf course and conservation land from National Development.

On Friday, selectmen held a brief meeting to authorize Town Administrator Bill Gustus to execute the agreement, pending voter approval.

The town is also set to receive a parcel of about 7 acres that will later be turned over to LIFE for senior housing once it is actually accessible, likely next summer. LIFE will also need to pay fees to connect the parcel to Wakefield's sewer system in order to complete the transfer.

Until securing approval by voters, the town is expected to hold the land in escrow.
