Want To Buy A Fire Truck?

Town set to auction off surplus equipment in the coming month.

The town of Lynnfield is set to auction off various pieces of surplus equipment in the coming month, with items including school buses, an old fire engine and a 1979 dump truck.

The auction is to be conducted via sealed bids and all proceeds will go into the town's general fund for the next fiscal year.

"We have determined that there has been no level of interest within our organization for these pieces of equipment," Town Administrator Bill Gustus told selectmen at this week's meeting. Items that do not sell will most likely end up being junked.
