Whole Foods Market joint 5% Day raises $34,190 for New Entry Sustainable Farming Project
The combined total was raised by nine Greater Boston locations for the non-profit group

(December, 22 2016) – On Wednesday December 21st, 2016 Whole Foods Market presented a check donation worth $34,190 to local nonprofit New Entry Sustainable Farming Project (New Entry). The proceeds were raised on December 14th, during a 5% Community Support Day held jointly by nine Greater Boston Whole Foods Market stores; Arlington, Medford, Woburn, Framingham, Wellesley, Wayland, Melrose, Lynnfield and Westford. A 5% day is a designated day when the store donates 5% of its net sales back to a non-profit organization that supports the community. Each Whole Foods Market store hosts four 5% days annually
New Entry is leading the way toward a vibrant local food system that promotes sustainable farming, conservation of farmland, and access to fresh, healthy food for all.
