In addition to backpacks and school supplies, the event will feature community agencies offering information, resources, and additional supplies for families. Organizers said the giveaway is intended to help students prepare for the upcoming school year while connecting families with services available throughout the community.

The Eliot Family Resource Center, which serves Malden and several surrounding communities, provides free support services for families with children. The center offers assistance with education, housing, food access, youth programs, parenting support, and connections to other community resources. It also hosts workshops, family activities and referral services throughout the year.

Families interested in participating can register online before the event. Organizers said registration is required to receive backpacks and school supplies.
