• Malden Officers Recognized After Heroic Rescue Of Child (patch.com) — Malden residents are hearing how two local police officers were honored for rescuing a nonverbal child who had wandered onto a fourth-floor balcony in June. Officers Daniel DiVincenzo and David Kessler received citations from Mayor Gary Christenson after their quick coordination with Malden firefighters led to the safe rescue, which officials say likely saved the boy's life.
   

• Malden High School still the #1 Most Diverse Public High School in Mass. (advocatenews.net) — Malden High School has again been named the most diverse public high school in Massachusetts and now ranks 57th most diverse nationwide, with over 70 languages represented. The school also climbed into the top 20% statewide for college prep, reflecting strong AP participation and a graduating Class of 2026 where most students are heading to college or other postsecondary paths.
   

• Middlesex Sheriff's Office Celebrates Successful 25th Season of its Youth Public Safety Academy (thereadingpost.com) — Malden kids were among more than 500 Middlesex County cadets who spent a week at the Youth Public Safety Academy in Chelmsford, learning about police, fire, emergency response, and safety through hands-on activities. The 25th-year program brought in partners from state police to health and utility experts, helping local children build confidence, leadership skills, and positive relationships with first responders.
