MALDEN, MA — A new indoor soccer facility is set to open in the city.
Unlimited Soccer, branded as UNLMTD Soccer, is preparing to launch at 735 Broadway in Malden's Ward 8. Ward 8 City Councilor Jadeane Sica said the business is expected to officially open within the next week or so. Mayor Gary Christenson and Sica recently toured the facility, checked out the field, and took part in some friendly competition.
"It's always exciting to welcome a new business to Malden, especially one that gives kids, families, teams, and soccer lovers another place to get active, have fun, and enjoy the game year-round," Sica said in a statement.
Sica said Christenson scored a goal against her during their visit, adding that she would be calling for a rematch.
The platform will offer indoor fields for five-on-five soccer, with pickup games, leagues, and field rentals among its planned offerings. The facility also includes a bar and lounge with TVs, heating and air conditioning, showers, and lockers. Théo Faillon is the Malden facility manager.
Youth classes will be available for boys and girls ages 2 to 14, with players of all skill levels welcome. The program consists of hour-long sessions offered weekly throughout the year, with pricing starting at $150 per month. Other offerings expected at the Malden spot include youth camps, private instruction, tournaments, birthday parties, private and corporate events, and watch parties.
Malden's Sign Design Review Committee approved a temporary banner for one year at the Broadway address on Thursday, Feb. 12. Socceroof's website now displays a notice about its facilities transitioning to the UNLMTD Soccer name.
UNLMTD was founded by Jean-David Tartour along with co-founders Jérôme Meary and Jonathan Lupinelli. Tartour serves as the company's CEO, while Meary is its CEO adviser and Lupinelli is its chief operating officer. According to the company, Tartour created the French indoor soccer business Le Five in 2008 before teaming up with Meary to expand into the United States.
The business began in Brooklyn before expanding to other locations such as New Haven, Montreal, and Toronto. The company announced its South Boston facility earlier this year at 4 Alger St.
The Malden facility's planned hours are 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The location remains listed as coming soon on the business's website.
