The Wold War II Battle of Leyte Gulf is considered one of the largest naval battles ever!

The World War II Battle of Leyte Gulf is considered one of the largest naval battles ever! The battle was fought in waters near the Philippine islands of Leyte, Samar and Luzon from October 23 to October 26, 1944, between combined US and Australian forces and the Imperial Japanese Navy.
12 Battleships, 141 Destroyers, PT Boats, and submarines were involved, and the USS Massachusetts was right in the thick of it!
Join Battleship Cove on Saturday, October 25, from 9:00am β 4:30pm, for a day of activities, including Funshops for kids, documentaries on Leyte Gulf on our big screen, and a presentation by Professor Steven Kornatz of the Naval War College.
