MANSFIELD, MA — An ATV was apparently struck by an Amtrak Acela train in Mansfield on Friday evening.
State police tell the Boston Globe that the Acela Express 2166 train from New York City to Boston hit one of three ATVs that were sitting on the tracks. No injuries were reported. None of the ATVs had riders.
The incident caused service to be suspended for two hours. Shuttle service replaced trains between Attleboro and Canton Junction during the investigation and cleanup.
