MANSFIELD, MA — The Mansfield Police Department is helping women take charge of their personal safety with an upcoming self-defense training program.
Beginning in November, the department will offer a 12-hour women's self-defense course designed to teach participants practical techniques, improve situational awareness and build confidence.
The training will take place at the Public Safety Building, located at 500 East St., on Nov. 17, 19, 23 and 25. Each session will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., with the course divided into four three-hour classes.
Through the Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) program, participants will learn personal safety strategies, risk reduction techniques and basic self-defense skills in a supportive environment with guidance from trained instructors.
The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize potential threats and respond to dangerous situations.
Residents interested in strengthening their self-defense skills can register online for the annual training opportunity.
