Boutique Design Magazine Names Mansfield Resident Carrie Nielsen as 2014 ‘Boutique 18’ Designer

Carrie Nielsen, Mansfield resident and associate interior designer for Boston’s Group One Partners, Inc., has been honored as part of Boutique Design’s ninth annual 'Boutique 18' – a yearly roster of the magazine’s top 18 on-the-rise hospitality interior designers. 

The Boutique 18 recognizes professionals who have the talent, drive, and innovation to move the industry forward.

“Carrie is an outstanding interior designer and an instrumental part of our design team,” says Harry Wheeler AIA, NCARB, LEED, principal of Group One Partners, Inc. “She is involved in all aspects of our interior design projects including programming, design development, and project management. She plays an essential role in the theming, project concepts, contract documentation, and administration of each project.”

With more than 15 years of experience, Nielsen has worked at Group One for nearly nine years. Some of her recent hotel design projects include the Hotel Envoy, an Autograph Collection in Boston, Mass., an adaptive reuse design for the Marriott Residence Inn – Downtown/Seaport in Boston, Mass., and the boutique hotel, Six South Hotel, in Hanover, N.H. Renovation projects include the Sheraton Hotel in Boston, Mass., and the Westin in Las Vegas, Nev.

Nielsen is NCIDQ certified (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) and is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH). She has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Md. 

The 2014 Boutique 18 inductees will be honored at the kick-off party for the BDwest Trade Fair in March and will participate in a panel discussion on the trade show floor. Nielsen and the other honorees will also be profiled in the March issue of Boutique Design magazine.
