Creating Space With Recycled Finds
Remember the windows that were on the side of the Elk's building? They're solid mahogany. I wish I got more! We can all build and do so much with things that are tossed to the side of the road.

Do you tend to pray/meditate/worship in the same place all the time? Some of us go to church to pray regularly. Some meet with friends for a walk through the woods. Some build alters in their own homes. I’ve done a combination. With the help of my, oh-so-helpful husband, I’ve built a meditation room in my back yard.
In my house my daughter has her own room. She’s a single child, she doesn’t have to share much. My husband has his ‘man cave’ and now, I have a space to call my own too.

This all started because I had two massive mahogany windows that had been taken out of the Elk’s building on Main Street. I had been looking at them leaning against my house for a year, wondering what I’d do with them. The gardener in me kept planting up a space in my back yard. That area was too dry and things kept dying. It finally hit the Healer/ Medium in me … ”I can build a room here.”
Everything we used back there was re-used. All the way down to the bitter sweet vine that my oh-so-helpful husband had cut down two years ago. It has a 3 inch caliper and is so wonderfully twisted. It really brings in character. I think we spent $15 total in here. That was for the post that were needed to hold the windows.

I’m very proud of my new space. I meditate back there daily now. And on occasion, I get to share all of this with a friend. Life is good!
