While I am so happy to see these wonderful women stepping into new roles, I am a sad my year as president has come to an end. I can’t say enough that the Mansfield Mothers’ Club is a fabulous group of generous, talented, wonderful, funny and beautiful women. I have enjoyed my time on the Board very much. I feel very blessed I was welcomed into this organization with open arms.
With that said, this past month we were all involved with our usual amount of varied activities and craziness!
We baked for Our Daily Bread and donated more than 90 homemade individually wrapped items to the pantry for their clients. We held a pajama drive to benefit Room to Grow with several members donating gently used and new pajamas to children born into poverty. And, we held a successful and fun play date at Epoch Nursing Home in Norton.
“I want to send out a special thank you to all of the moms and kiddos who came out to support our Spring Epoch Senior Living Center visit,” wrote Melissa Brown, our club vice president, who organized these outreach efforts. “We had a wonderful turnout - about six moms, 10 kids and nine Epoch residents turned out for the flower pot decorating and planting activity. Each pot was uniquely decorated and special care was taken when choosing the perfect annual to plant by each person. Smiles and giggles filled the room!”
What a whirlwind this year has been. I know I am not the only one who sits up at night and thinks about how fast time is going by. How big my children are getting. How much I miss a certain phase of their development that they’ve outgrown. How much I am looking forward to the next phase. And in the midst of all of these thoughts, remembering to enjoy today...be grateful for the craziness...try not to be too hard on myself. I wish you a wonderful summer filled with enjoying all of these moments!
