Braintree Girls' Basketball Earns Top Seed, Boys Take Seventh Seed

The undefeated Braintree girls’ basketball team has earned the top seed in the MIAA Division 1 South tournament. They will face the winner of Wellesley/Brockton on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Braintree. The winner of this game will face either Mansfield or the winner of the Marshfield/Bridgewater-Raynham preliminary match.

In the Division 1 South boys’ tournament, the Wamps earned the seventh seed and will play Plymouth South in Braintree at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner of that game will face either Newton North or the winner of the Durfee/King Philip preliminary round game.

The girls finished the season with a record of 20-0 while the boys were 15-5.

In hockey, the 9-5-6 Wamps earned the eighth seed and drew ninth seeded Framingham. The first round game is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Thursday in Randolph.
