Bristol County Cop Finds Balloon With Heartbreaking Note Attached

The emotional note came from a child grieving the loss of their father.

TAUNTON, MA — A Bristol County sheriff deputy is trying to return a balloon a child released with a heartbreaking note attached to it. The deputy told Boston 25 News he was eating lunch in his cruiser when he noticed a smiley face balloon floating toward him.

"I love you, dad. I miss you, but you are a star. I will never forget you," the note read.

The police officer said he hopes to return the balloon to an adult in the child's family.
