Canton Man Arrested for Mansfield Charged with 2nd OUI in 4 Months

Police say Richard Lane's blood-alcohol content was over three times the legal limit

MANSFIELD, MA — A Canton man arrested in Mansfield was not only charged with operating under the influence of liquor for the second time in four months, but also had a blood-alcohol content level over three times the legal limit.

Richard Lane, 50, was arrested on the drunken driving charge Monday night after police allegedly found him in a parking lot on Route 106, sleeping in his car with the engine on and the stick in the drive position. He was ordered held in jail without bail after his bail from his previous case was revoked.

At about 9 p.m., police received a report of a man sleeping at the wheel for about a half-hour, according to the Sun Chronicle. After police located the vehicle in the Dynamic Dental parking lot, Lane allegedly denied drinking and driving, but police say they located an empty vodka nip in the center console's cup holder and two more in the glove compartment and in Lane's pants.
