Carjacking Suspect Arrested After Chase Through Mansfield

A Taunton man faces multiple charges after taking police through a six-town car chase Friday afternoon that included Mansfield.

Bruno Tinoco, 40, was arrested after the chase and charged with armed carjacking, armed robbery, failure to stop for a police officer and operating a motor vehicle to endanger. Tinoco was also charged with several warrants, including one for the armed robbery of Walgreeens according to Taunton police.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., Friday, police in Taunton responded to a reported carjacking on Broadway. Only four minutes later, a holdup alarm was reported at a car business north of the reported carjacking.

The suspect then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, driving to Raynham. While in Raynham, Tinoco was allegedly involved with another attempted robbery of a CVS.

The vehicle was observed near Route 495, but the suspected refused to stop for police. A police pursuit was initiated back in Taunton and continued through Easton, Norton, Mansfield, North Attleboro, then back into Taunton.

The chase ended when the suspect’s vehicle struck a vehicle in the area of 60 Short Street in Taunton. The suspect was taken into custody by the Taunton Police Department.
