Cars Broken Into While People Are At Church In Mansfield

Five cars in the parking lot had their windows smashed in. Purses and cellphones were stolen.

MANSFIELD, MA — Several cars parked at St. Mary's Church on Sunday were broken into while their owners were at church, according to Mansfield Police.

Five cars in the parking lot had their windows smashed in, victims reported around 6:45 p.m., as the service was rapping up. Mansfield Police Officer Christopher Walsh told Wicked Local purses and cellphones were stolen.

According to Walsh, suspects smashed windows on cars that had valuables in plain sight. He urges all residents to lock their cars and make sure their valuables are not visible.
