Charges Issued Against Norton Man for Mansfield Crash
Police say William Dean was driving while drunk when he crashed into a boulder early Sunday morning.

MANSFIELD, MA — A Norton man faces charges following a one-car crash early Sunday morning in Mansfield.
William Dean, 26, has been issued a court summons for charges of causing serious injury while operating under the influence of liquor, operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger, marked lanes violation, speeding, and failure to stop/yield, according to the Mansfield Police Log.
At 1:21 a.m., police and fire responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into a yard near the intersection of West and Plain Streets. Police say the vehicle, driven by Dean, failed to stop at the intersection, ran a stop sign, struck a boulder in the yard, became airborne, and struck a vehicle in the driveway.

Dean was removed from the vehicle by Mansfield fire and transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.
