The announcement comes on the heels of an earlier decision to suspend all Commuter Rail service inbound to Boston.
All day, the Commuter Rail and subway have been plagued with delays and cancellation. The most notable incident occurred in Quincy where nearly 50 people were stuck in a Red Line train between Quincy Center and Quincy Adams for two hours after snow caused the third rail to lose power.
