Cranston Developer Purchases Foxfield Plaza

Saletin Real Estate Group plans on redeveloping the shopping plaza at the Foxborough-Mansfield town line.

The redevelopment of Foxfield Plaza is one step closer to completion with the recent sale of the property.

Saletin Real Estate Group of Cranston recently announced the acquisition of the plaza at the Foxborough-Mansfield town line as part of their proposal to redevelop the 19-acre site into a mixed-use development called Forbes Crossing.

In the proposal, the current plaza will be demolished and replaced with three pad sites, over 46,000 square feet of retail space, and a 139-room nationally flagged hotel.

“There is a lot of excitement among officials and community members about the Forbes Crossing proposal, and with good reason,” said Jeffrey Saletin, president of Saletin Real Estate Group n a release. “Our proposal for a mixed-use site will bring activity into the area.”

“The Town of Foxborough is truly excited to see the former Foxfield Plaza redeveloped into the “new” Forbes Crossing Development,” said Town Manager Bill Keegan. “For many years the Town has seen this property considered for redevelopment and the concept and strategy of Forbes Crossing has all of the necessary elements for a highly successful venture.”

Years in the making, the Forbes Crossing receiving approval from the Foxborough Zoning Board of Appeals in July. The Planning Board and Conservation Commission will have to sign off on the project before construction can begin.
