Crisis Negotiators Needed For Jewell Street Incident

A MetroLEC team was also called to the scene after a man police were attempting to arrest barricaded himself inside a home.

MANSFIELD, MA — A man has been taken into police custody following an incident at a Jewell Street home Friday night.

Police went to the home at 7:15 p.m. to arrest the man as part of an investigation that started about two hours earlier. Officers determined that the man was not home, but locked inside a neighbor's home, according to a release from the Mansfield Police Department.

A MetroLEC Tactical team and a Crisis Negotiating Team were called to the scene and the man surrendered an hour later.

The man's name has not been released due to the active nature of the investigation, police said.

No other information was available as of late Friday night.
