Director of Food Services for Mansfield Schools Given Highest Recognition in the Field in the Country
School Nutrition Association gives Dawn Langtry the title of Food Nutrition Specialist.

The School Nutrition Association recently gave Mansfield Director of School Food Services Dawn Langtry the title of School Nutrition Specialist; the highest national credential that can be obtained in the field of school food services.
The SNA is a non-profit organization that encourages and recognizes high standards in nutrition and quality in school food services. It has over 55,000 members, and also gives advice and tips for improving school nutrition. The School Nutrition Specialist Credentialing Program was established by the SNA in 1997 to help show what it takes to manage school nutrition programs in modern economic situations.
The SNA requires that anyone who applies for this credential must take a rigorous academic exam that tests the nutritional knowledge of each applicant. The test has over 100 subject areas related to nutrition.

Langtry is one of 1,050 members of the SNA who holds the title in the country. She is one of only 49 who hold the title in Massachusetts. As of her receipt of the award, she was one of 47 people across the country to receive the credential this year.
