Turkey Talk at Oak Knoll Wildlife Sanctuary

oin us for a fun filled program about turkeys. Did you know that the last wild turkey in Massachusetts was killed on Mount Tom in 1851? Through a reintroduction program led by the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (now known as Mass Wildlife),and in cooperation with the University of Massachusetts, 37 wild turkeys were released in 1972-1973. The estimated population today stands at 15,000. We will learn about turkeys, make a turkey craft, and head out on the trail to search for our elusive friends.
