Former Mansfield Repair Shop Tow Manager Fudged Paperwork to Take Jeep, File Claim: Warrant
The car was at the shop after an accident, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — An Indiana man is facing serious theft and forgery charges while being accused of fudging paperwork to make an insurance claim for a wrecked car he stole while working at a local repair shop, state police said.
The case dates back to February, state police said. On Tuesday, Troy Burek, 29, was arrested on a warrant and charged with first-degree larceny, third-degree larceny, second-degree forgery and insurance fraud, according to an arrest report.
An arrest warrant indicates he had worked at T&B Motors of Mansfield as a tow manager.

A business official returned from vacation and noticed a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that had been towed there after a crash, according to the warrant. It had been taken to an area dealership by a directive issued by Burek, according to the warrant.
A repair slip for the car was under Burek's name, according to the warrant.

Burek managed to obtain the title from the actual owner and fudged an insurance claim for the Jeep, according to the warrant.
The claim was worth $26,549, according to the warrant.
State police said Burek is now from Carmel, IN.
