MANSFIELD, MA - A GoFundMe campaign to help a Mansfield family displaced by an electrical fire has surged well past its initial goal.
On February 16, a falling branch and an electrical surge caused the School Street home of Kevin, Jamie, and Cory Burke to catch fire. While no one was home during the fire, Kevin and Jamie’s bedroom possessions were destroyed and several rooms suffered smoke damage, according to the fundraising page.

As of the evening of Feb. 22, the page has raised $14,425. Well above the goal of $7,500.
It will be some time before the Burkes can move back to their home. According to the page, it will be nine to 10 months before they can return.
